The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an advisory stating that parents should carefully choose aquatic toys and ensure they are used in accordance with the label and safety recommendations (including appropriate age and weight of child, and assembly and usage instructions). Furthermore, it was advised that a child using aquatic toys be constantly supervised by an adult and for the toys to be periodically checked for damage. FDA also noted that aquatic toys should be designed and manufactured to reduce risks of drowning.
