Vietnam’s government is amending the Child Safety Regulations for toys, cracking down on traces of Phthalate recently found in toys: The Department of Quality Control conducted an investigation, which revealed that many toys contained levels of the toxic Phthalate that far exceeded the recommended limit. This crack down is predominantly targeted at toys manufactured in China. The National Safe Children’s Toy regulation, initially drafted in 2009, is being updated to reflect these amendments.
