Happy UN International Day of Play! 🎉
Today, 11th June 2025, Playeum launched What Matters to Our Children? — a new report sharing the hopes, concerns, and ideas of 201 young children (ages 3 to 14) in Singapore.
Supported by the LEGO Group, this project reveals how PLAY unlocks children’s voices and potential.
Through 10 play-based, participatory workshops conducted by Playeum in November and December 2024, children expressed themselves using LEGO bricks, drawings, and conversations.
The children did more than point out the problems they see — from social inequality to climate change and global conflict.
They offered imaginative, practical ideas for change, reflected deeply on how learning can be more meaningful, and envisioned a more inclusive society.
Above all, they expressed a clear hope: that adults will listen and take action.
These findings serve as a powerful reminder that young children are not just future adults — they are present-day thinkers, creators, and contributors.
This report calls on adults who care for children, policymakers, media professionals, and all supporters of children to create regular, safe, and inclusive spaces where young voices can be heard and meaningfully inform action.
